    Default Northern Pintail displaying

Here is a shot of a progressive Northern Pintail. He is displaying and trying to get the attention of a female Mallard. I like the way he thinks . From Central Park in Manhattan a month ago.

Canon 1DX and Canon 500 f4 ii. F7.1, ISO 500, SS 1/3200. Tripod mounted while lying on the cold and snowy ground. Self critique is that I would have preferred the bird to be more parallel to the camera but I was OK with this as the head angle is good.

Processed with DPP 4.6 and PS.

A lovely pose from the most elegant of waterfowl. I'm fine with the position of both body and head. I like the touch of raspberry color on the head. Interesting to speculate what the hybrid would look like.

Beautiful bird, lovely feathers and color. I guess if mine I would have wished the background be different, but we take what we get. Thank you for sharing, Isaac.

Nice shot Isaac -- like the head angle, beak, and small catchlight. Seems all the laying in the snow for these ducks has been worth it! Nice details left in the whites too, TFS
