    Default black-crowned night heron at Venice

    Taken this last Florida trip for a morning shoot at Venice Rookery. Morning had some cloud cover and i had just checked my settings when this fly in to the nest occurred. There was a chance he'd fly in front of the trees in the BG, and i was fortunate.

    I like the colours and the even lighting, good clear view of the (sharp) eye.

    This is a beauty, I like all about it. A thought, maybe smooth out the patches of brightness that filtered through the background. Thank you for sharing, Ann.

    P.S. I have lived in Florida for 15 years and have never gone to the rookery in Venice. Will have to do that sometime.

    Great pose and lighting. The eye is sharp and fierce looking, especially if you are on the receiving end! Lovely soft muted background.
