Hi everyone, I own a HP workstation with a HP Dreamcolor screen and Dreamcolor color management software. The screen needs recalibration, but I'm wondering if for this screen I'm stuck with the HP color solutions, or that I could also switch to 3rd party color calibration devices and software, like the ones from X-Rite.

Main reasons to want to switch are the availability, and the HP mobile display Assistant software, which manages the colors on the workstation, does not agree with Windows 10 (brightness keeps jumping to maximum at random moments since I upgraded), and I can't find a solution to that problem online anywhere.

The HP monitor calibrator seems to be listed as discontinued everywhere, but found an X-rite product (i1Display Pro) that resembles the HP calibrator very closely.

Thanks for any advice!
