    Default Skimmer Reflection

    Hi all,

Here is a black skimmer frame from Florida. I clipped the wings on the capture so wanted to try to experiment with a symmetric crop for the theme (not sure if it completely works so interested in feedback here). In post, relatively normal edits -- cropped about 40%, sharpened, some levels adjustments. SS was probably too high here.

    Camera: Nikon D500
    Lens: 200-500mm f/5.6 at 500mm
    Specs: 1/4000 ISO 640 f/5.6

    Thanks for looking!

Love the skimming position and the slightly open beaks , the water drops and the soft water. I'd have more bird and less reflection in the composition. DO you have more of the upper part? If not is still works for me with wings clipped. TFS.

Hi Lorant, I've attached another version with about as much wing as I have in the original capture. Thanks for looking!

Alex, great shot! I can even see this with a lot less reflection than the one in the RP, maybe just showing the reflection of the bill. Panoramic crop maybe? I also don't mind not having the full wing!

Hi Adhika, Thanks for the kind words and suggestion -- I've attached a RP using a 16:9 crop. I never really explore crop options besides 3:2 so thank you for the suggestion!

Yep, its the 16:9 for me. Well captured Alex, love the 'skimmed' line trailing behind the bird.
