This picture was my only trip to L&D 14 in Jan. Temperature was about 8 degrees. This old bird had a bum left foot that was kept tucked up, and was catching fish with his good one. This wasn't the greatest capture because I cut off half the left wing and had to past feathers and add to the bottom. I couldn't throw this one out because his intense expression was so determined, the ice on his talons tells the story for that day, brrrrr. He caught several fish that day and ate them standing on the one good foot.

Mike image looks good, love the expression. I'm wondering if you have enough room to do a vertical comp with more room to the bottom and right
to give it a feeling like he's dropping out of the sky to add to the intensity of the shot.
Lovely story Mike ,great capture that gaze is SO intense. Heart warming seeing an old guy a bit beat up doing well. Tim's suggestion for me is a wonderful idea. Good work Mike I really like this
It is only a tiny tweak dear Mike. Your image is so beautiful!
I too have this problem, sometimes the whites are a bit muddy in my frames, busy working on it... Mr. Kaluski has just pointed this out to me in one of my recent posts in Wildlife - So I am just sharing what I have learnt:)
I would love to see more from you and will certainly keep an eye on your posts,
I am especially moved by your attachment to this bird and its situation. One of the things that l most enjoy when I'm shooting and with the intimacy in post processing. The ideas here are of value and are supportive. You've enabled a good learning experience.
