Jon this doesn't have quite the impact of the others you have shown for me. Deeply interesting Jon as it's something I wouldn't have considered if I had of got a chance thus far. jon I feel it's something to do with the all (visible) front legs being raised to a similar angle. I like the colour of the hares,still that niggle about a little more pop .Maybe that needs qualifying...that vibrance I spoke of in my own thread regarding colour,noted you colour reductions noted also that i'm leaning towards a bit more in the very colour that you have reduced. But this frame feels close to nature what I actually see in the wild. bkg colour looks good .
Wonderful for me to watch you go through these images incredibly thought provoking as well as enjoying the "viewing" . Do you feel settled now on a raw converter especially with regards to this subject?

Stu I will in all probability end up using DPP but I have recently tried DXO there is a free trial for 31 days. This converter is very sophisticated, it really makes me slow downs and actually consider in much more detail what I am doing. The benefit has been transferable to DPP where I am now doing a little more thinking and adjusting (and largely thanks to Andreas suggesting various colour adjustments).
I see the benefit of really mastering one converter but I feel that by using more than one converter on certain occasions it makes me appreciate differing possibilities, even if I then revisit DPP to produce the image that was obtainable via for example ACR or DXO. I am trying to explain that sometimes it is possible to do a conversion and be happy with it, but it is possible to be happier having seen an alternative - this is often the case when posting on this forum, people take the time and trouble to suggest a different version and it just makes me think a bit more......and I am always very appreciative.

I actually prefer this photo to the other, it seems to be more dynamic with suggestions of one hare backing down.

I never knew they did that... great capture. Here in Florida all I have seen are Marsh Rabbits, smaller than these I think. Thank you for sharing, Jonathan.

Hi Jon - Another good action shot and I again like the poses and the visible eyes. This one seems a bit darker than your prior posts like you brought the overall exposure down a bit?
