    Default Blue-winged Teal

I took a couple hundred photos of this bird from a bunch of different angles. I have posted others. I only have one angle where the sun hit the bird perfectly and brought out the rich green tones of the wings. The deep orange tones on the flanks turned a much brighter orange. These really are striking birds when seen at the perfect sun angle. Otherwise their beauty is quite subtle and hidden in the shadows. Taken in the early morning light.

Canon 1DX and Canon 500 f4 ii + 1.4x iii. ISO 800, F5.6, SS 1/2500. Tripod mounted while lying in frozen goose poop and other yummy stuff!

Processed in DPP 4.6 and PS.

Nice to see how the different angles bring out the colors. What a beautiful series you're posting, Isaac. Love the smooth water and the wake in front. At least the goose poop was frozen.

Killer details and colors here -- so jealous. Just such a calm looking shot -- seems laying in the goose poo was worth it!

Another sweet shot of this cooperative teal. I never realized they had such gorgeous green in their wings. Well done.

Nice detail on the bird with good head angle really like the soft tones of the background.

Love the colours throughout the image. Nice HA and the greens look real good. Lovely feather detail.

Really nice close-up detail and perfect head turn. It's a very serene image.
