to witness something like this , even if stayed with the Seals for a week i just saw this happening once . Missed many by coming too late ....

Hi folks this was very very special , spend the whole afternoon with this female in hope to see the birth of the pup ... many folks already gave up , some stayed and finally could see the birth happening . The final action was quite quick and sadly not visible in total as the female was moving quite a lot .... so this is the best shot i could get from it .
The light was .... very poor ... almost dark with heavy skies .
So i think that has more documentary character .... hope you still are interested in such things .
No more room to both sides .

Hi Andreas - This is all about the moment witnessed and not about the image. It must have been thrilling. I think I would have probably just watched.

    Hello Andreas,

Really not bad for ISO 25600

Love to see the birth of this pup, even though the face of mom and newborn are not visible. Although I do see the whiskers of the little one!

Well exposed and the techs are great, so is your PP work. I am always interested to see animal behaviour, Boetie. Wish you could put together a series of images from this instance, if you have.

Really appreciate you sharing this, I enjoyed viewing

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Andreas, nice to see a birth being posted rather than a killing, although I'm not too sure which is the more 'gory'?

I feel I'm with Rachel and rather witness the even rather than captured it.

    TFS
    Steve
