    I captured this image of a American White Ibis at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. The vivid red color and the gular sac/wattle only show when breeding and last for a short time. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 400mm
    1/1250 F/8 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 900 AWB, camera supported by a monopod

    Very nice portrait with the gular sac. Good head angle for the beak to clear the body. Good eye contact too. I'd love to see one with a more side angled full lit body position if you have any. TFS.

    Terrific image, Joe!I love the shadow on the original b/c it adds depth to the image. Love the pose and the details are super. We on BPN refer to these as "ballchinians." :)
