Thought I'd post this to fit the March theme. Taken handheld in Ecuador with Canon 7D2, Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II + 2xTCIII at f/5.6, ISO 1000, 1/250

Great looking bird and very nice details set off against a perfect background. I am not crazy about the angle of the branch. In a perfect world I'd like to see the shooting angle a little less steep. Also looks like the background is a tiny bit noisy.

Isaac's comments notwithstanding, this is a stunning bird with good detail. Certainly fits the theme.

Wow, the gorget is simply amazing!! Great colours overall too. I agree with the steep angle. Perch could be better, but the bird's colours and elegance almost made me overlook that.

the bird is gorgeous with those colors, almost looks like a scene of paradise from a movie. sharp. but like others I also wish you had a better angle here, I could live with the perch if the angle was less steep. noise in the BG can be dealt with in post. if you have neat image one click should take care of it
