A young, not so big alligator at Gatorland, Orlando, FL. Since we are on the boardwalk its kinda difficult to get a low angle. So i sat of the floor to get an acceptable angle. Wanted to highlight the eye with its reflection.

Sorry Sanjeev, it's not really grabbing me, I just find the detail and overall impact lacking.

Wanted to highlight the eye with its reflection.
If you had it, then using the 500 with the 1.4 and going for more of a 'detail' image may have been better and more in keeping with what you wanted to achieve.

Hi Sanjeev - it's always tough to shoot when you're restricted to a boardwalk. The colors look good but I have to agree with Steve that the fine detail and texture is missing.

    Dear Sanjeev,

I think I understand what you had in mind when you captured this. I do like the idea of the eye and its reflection in the water - had you managed to get closer this would have been an awesome frame. Perhaps not as exciting as we want it to be, but still a nice portrait and I like the rich colours and tonality. Framing works, you might want to consider opening the blacks a tad in order to show the beautiful patters on the alligator's skin.

Thank you so much for sharing,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Sanjeev as i do like reptiles in general .. i am ok with the shot .
Like the crop , colors and the overall tones .... but if you wanted to highlight the eyes and reflection ... well than you missed the target from my POV . As the crop is far to loose and your target is lost in the frame.
