    Default Incoming Skimmer skyscape.

I was pleasantly surprised when I reviwed this image once downloaded onto my PC. The morning sun was still quite low in the sky behind Ft. Desoto's North Beach when I took this and reflected some nice warm colors on the clouds, and as an added bonus some blue sky was also present. Seeing that the bird was sharp was the icing on the cake!!:D

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, manual, 1/640s., f/7.1, ISO 500, +0.7 EC metered off sky, handheld, ~75% full-frame (cropped for composition).

Great light, the pink clouds really add to it. Composition works for me, too.

    Default Great Skimmer Image

I do like the morning glow caught in the clouds.

If only I could see the highlight in the other eye (I'm joking).

This is a gorgeous shot - a true work of art. The composition works well in relationship with the subjects pose. The background is amazing. Thanks for sharing this wonderful image!

Congratulations Dan. You forgot to mention that you got this species as well.
