Something a little different. A puku in the high grass of South Luangwa N.P., Zambia in the golden light of the morning. I know some people won't like the grasses on the face but I think it shows how they try to hide in plain sight and their natural defense is to blend into the environment.

    Dearest Rachel,

This little one is so well camouflaged:) I like the way she peeps through those tall grasses.

An interesting behavioural frame and the golden light adds to the image. From what I have read, this species' habitat is usually grassy plains between floodplains and woodland and they are water dependent. Males have horns so this is a female.

I admit I might have hesitated posting this for the reason you mentioned above. But I too love to capture similar images when out in the field because they showcase aspects of behaviour. So why not share them

Thank you Rachel, I enjoyed viewing. Keep them coming please, I am searching for something to post tonight

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Rachel i feel really sorry , but as you expected this is not working for me sadly.
The technical side is just perfect with pleasing tones and lovely colors , well processed though.
But not not enough for me to find this an attractive image , but why not try ....

Thanks Gabriela and Andreas. Andreas, yes, I knew it wouldn't be for everyone but nothing ventured, nothing gained. I enjoy experimenting in the field.

Certainly different and I like the overall colour palette, I just wished you were more parallel (side on) to the subject, as this I feel would have added to a more pleasing POV.
