This was shot under a heavy overcast sky at a local bird sanctuary. I know the shutter speed is pretty low but the cardinal was very cooperative and didnt seem to move for at least a minute.
The sun was shining 30 min before this shot but of course the birds were nowhere to be found at that time lol.

Love the red on red of this. So cool. Nice all around for me. Perch and details are good. Set of very nicely by that background.

On my screen it looks like the background could use a little noise reduction and like the reds on the head may be a tiny bit too hot. Easy fixes for a very nice shot. I might try a version where I tried to up the exposure a little as well and see how it looks. Not sure about that but feel like it is a little on the dark side. I know you said taken in heavy overcast skies but maybe it will hold up.

Looks beautiful to me, the image does not appear to have an embedded profile, in Photoshop the image is clipped, I would suggest reducing the saturation of the reds a little and ensuring the SRGB profile is embedded when converting to jpeg.

Thanks guys . I did think the reds were a bit bright but never thought to look at the histogram in photoshop . I pulled back the saturation of the red channel just on the bird.
