    Hi All,

I took this image at Gatorland Mini IPT with Artie. It was a wonderful experience to learn from Artie. I got some good Images.

This is was taken on the first day. I absolutely love patch of skin on its face which turns neon green, in Breeding Plumage.

Detail Extractor - Nik Color effect Pro
    Removed few distracting background elements.

Let me know your comments and critiques.

    Thanks

Very nice sharp image like the green around the eye as well.

Like the close up of the bird. I have a bunch of pics just like this from a visit there a couple weeks ago. The green patch around the eye is great. Works very well with the beautiful green background. When I went the birds were posing on the boardwalk near a very dark area so I basically have this shot against a black background.

My only thought is that you perhaps used the detail extractor at too high of a percentage. The feathers look a little over sharpened to me. On a shot like this I would typically use the DE at 25% opacity and then maybe smart sharpen at .5 and 100-110%. Could you let us know how it was processed?

A lovely shot, nicely composed. Nice and sharp with good details. If the DE was overdone it wasn't by much, as I see it on my screen

very nice shot Krishna, love the HA and the Bg, sharp. The plumage is overdone and looks a bit unnatural to my eye . you really don't need any of these fancy filters etc. a great image will look great and natural without any post filters, if you still like to use these filter try very gentle settings as Issac suggested

Excellent detail in the photo Krishna! As pointed out earlier the plumage looks over sharpened. I also think the whites are underexposed and appear gray as a result. I'd brighten them up to make them look white.

    Thank you for the feedback.

I reduced the contrast and increase the brightness. I also though the whites are little too hot

I always check the whites using Digital Color Meter from Mac

    Previous Values:-
    R - 237
    G - 229
    B - 229

    Current Values:-
    R - 235
    G - 232
    B - 233

Posting the image after these changes.

Thanks for taking the time to reprocess the image Krishna. But the whites are still gray. I'm not sure where you're measuring your whites, but I am getting much lower values throughout much of the bird's white plumage. Here is a reprocessed version where the grays are eliminated but the details in the whites are preserved. I'd be interested in your opinion of my repost.
