    Default European Bison ...grooming

Hi folks ...another frame from my recent trip to Kraansvlak in the Netherlands .
In this case i got very close to the herd .... i was alone with them for 1,5 hours , it was a very relaxed time for all of us . The herd behaved so cool with my presence , i bet it would have been different with more folks around.
Some individuals passed me and settled down after a while , my chance to get some close up shots .
    More to come ...
This male had turned his head and was cleaning up himself .....

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 200-400 IS L at 400 mm
    HH

F 5,6 ; Iso 16000 ; 1/2500 sec ; might have got away with a slower SS to gain a bit more DOF

Processed with DPP 4.5 and PS CC 2017 ; cropped for comp from the sides .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous thread .

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas - Another nice image of the European Bison. I like the close up. Nice glossy eye, good details and tones. Small crit, I wish it was fur all the way to the top of the frame. Looking forward to more.

    Rachel

Hi ANdreas -- A complete U turn by the animal , must be real flexible . At first instance i thought there are two individuals and then read your intro regarding the Bison cleaning itself. You have again processed the image well and to start with you have exposed it very nicely. Nice details and sharpness , works for me on almost all counts. I too wish as Rachel pointed out , that the fur should be also there at the top but not a deal breaker .

    TFS !

Thanks Haseeb and Rachel for taking your time to comment and share your thoughts , much appreciated .

I can do nothing about the top of the frame , i was already standing and could not get higher to avoid that lighter piece of BG .They are built a little bit different compared to the american relatives , their humps on the back are not that high .

    Cheers Andreas

Haseeb they have to be very flexible ..... if they want to clean up themselves at their end ...as their hooves are not designed to grab a towel

I like how this frame is all-bison, with good details and behaviour.
Could work well in B&W too?
