I converted in Dpp4 then Photoshop applied levels sharpened had several versions the tiff looks better losing some detail when I try and sharpen the jpeg.
Question I have would I be better off shooting at 6.3 or 7.1 to get more depth of field since there isn't much background to blur out being just water? To get more of the bird in focus. Also which is a better waty to sharpen smart sharpen or unsharp mask?

Hi Kevin, very cool shot and action. I like the low angle, the framing, and the water droplets. To me, it looks like there is some motion blur on the bird's eye? See what others think though and could be just needing more sharpening. Thanks for sharing!

Kevin, you nailed this one, HA, exposure, angle, sharpness, very nice.
One suggestion would be to remove the bottom reflection in the eye, that's why Alex though it was motion blur.
It's just the reflection off of the water, for me It's natural so I don't mind but others prefer just one reflection, it's up to you and your preference.

Great shot Kevin, I like everything about this image; action, prey, colors, and reflection all work for me.

Beautiful. A bird I have yet to see, but am hoping I might at the end of the month when I will be in St. Simons GA for a week. Lovely detail. I may have to get a 2x converter
