I spent an afternoon in a snowstorm hoping to get shots with falling snow. There was actually to much snow lol.
I still manged to get close enough for the autofocus to work as this guy was baited.

cloned out a small branch and applied sharpening on the bird only. uncropped.

I love the pose and flying snow. Great vie of the talons. A bit more room in front would help the comp IMO, and I would look at deepening the blacks a touch more. Other than that, this is quite a dynamic image!

Awesome frame and nice look at the eye -- I agree with Daniel re: adding a bit more depth. It must've been great to be so close to this guy!

Great action shot with falling snow adding to it. Love the intense stare and exposed talons.

I like the stare and the very interesting pouncing pose. The snow kicked up adds interest. Having just seen them I know how exciting it is to photograph them. I find the image a bit flat and the bird looks too brown to me and for some reason does not look tack sharp. Not sure if it is from the lighting or slight motion blur.

Thanks guys . I tried deepening the blacks a bit and added a little canvas to the right and removed the same amount from the left.
You are right Isaac that it isn't tack sharp as the autofocus was really struggling with all the snow flakes.

The RP is much stronger. You may try a little more sharpening on the face feathers.

I was going through old photos and re-processed this one to try and pull a bit more detail from it. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
