    Last Friday I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 400mm (600mm FFE)
    1/1250 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +2/3 IS0 560 AWB, single point continuous autofocus, active AF point on the birds head, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC 2017, one intruding branch removed
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Nice sharp image with good exposure, I'm wondering if this would look better with a vertical crop?

    Hi Tim, thank you for viewing and commenting. I do have a vertical of this image, easy to do in Lightroom with Create Virtual Copy.

    Nice image Joe, love the eye contact and also like the vertical better. I'm wondering how it will look if you change the crop aspect ratio so you can remove some of the empty space from the top. What's the dark spot on top of the left foot? Is that a feather?
