    This one is from the loch side on a wet and windy day. I always found it quite difficult getting close to these birds in my part of the world. On this occasion I managed to get low down in a reed bed, and he swam quite close to me.

    It does indeed look cold and windy with that chop on the water. Properly exposed with good color and detail Will. Nicely done. :-)

    Love this one William. Excellent close up and details. This is about as good as any shot I have ever seen of Common Merganser. Love the tilted head and the water droplets as well. Great job on this one.

    Bird looks sharp, well exposed and have excellent eye contact. No nits from me, well done.

    These guys are tough to get close to on this side of the pond too, at least in my parts! Neat portrait. The only thing is that it is unfortunate that its' chest reflected on the lower part of the eye. All else is top notch and very appealing!
