This is one from Sunday, as the sun was going down at the local harbour. The BG is an ancient wooden pier. When the Goldeneye enter the harbour area they always keep to the same flight path, but fly very erratically. Above this wooden pier is the skyline which is their usual flight path, which my camera was set for. This one decided to stay low, but I managed to lock onto it.

It is such a spectacularly lit image! IMHO, the light patches in the BG really compete with my eye. I'd be tempted to really darken them, or completely eliminate them.
I am on a computer that is not one I normally use, so I could be wrong, but a little more sharpening could be beneficial.

Beautiful light and mood captured here. Agree with Akos on sharpening the head.
Now that is different Will,agree a little more work on the head but that apart a fabulous shot.

The lighting is beautiful and the unusual dark bg works here. Like the shot.
Will I really like this shot, it has that different to the ordinary look about it so well done.
I have to ask though At 100% is the eye sharp? If so great and a little more sharpening, if not... well as my pal always says to me, "go back and do it again!"
