    Default Galah in flight

Lately I have been getting some good flying action with various parrot species at wetlands and reserves close to home. Most Australian parrots are strong fast flyers with lots of agility and erratic flying patterns. During an early morning session this Galah was no exception and did its best to evade being photographed.

Canon 1DxII, EF 600 IS II + 1.4TCIII, f8, ISO 500, 1/1600, handheld. PS CC, cropped for composition.

    Comments appreciated.

Tack focus, good feather detail and wing position with a clear eye. Well done in flight shot.

Beautiful parrot, your birds in Australia are so colorful and interesting. If mine I might rotate it counterclockwise to level the bird. Thank you for sharing, Gerhard.

Hi Gerhard, you certainly nailed this flight pose. Great eye contact, and I do like the raised wings, and the show of the rose coloured plumage. Well captured.

Perfect angle and flight pose. Nice to see the catch light which adds a lot.

Real stunner you have here. Love the pose against the beautiful blue sky. Excellent exposure and details. Not sure I have seen a better flight shot of a parrot. Congrats.

I was in Australia in 2001 and would love to go back. Actually it is my favorite country I have ever visited and keep asking my wife to transfer to the Sydney office so we can move.

This is a great looking flight frame of what we in the States call a Rose breasted Cockatoo.
I like the pose, details and the light angle is really nice. Well done
