    Hello,

This is my first post, so hopefully, I've followed the directions correctly.

Overcast, Barnegat Light, NJ from the jetty.

Hi Celeste, welcome to the forum. What an awesome duck, wish we had them here.
A few pointers I can give is that your image is over exposed, the whites are blown out and you lost a lot of color in the water.
That could be corrected either with a higher shutter speed or lower ISO, always get lower "if" possible, since you were shooting from a jetty that can't be helped.
Image looks sharp and you have enough room in front of the bird.
Looking forward to your next post.

    Hello Tim,

I actually bumped the exposure +.45 before posting this because it looked dark on my monitor which I had just calibrated with the colormunki. I generally work with the brightness just under 50% on the iMac 5K...could this be a problem?

Thanks for looking and your comments!

Hi Celeste it could be that you bumped the exposure, are you measuring the ambient light in the room also?
    I'm also calibrated using a Spyder4Elite.

Not sure if this is okay, but I'm including the original version, which, when I view the on the calibrated monitor at 100% brightness, seems okay. There's a lot to work out here!

Even on this the whites are over exposed…
The reds show over and the blues under I hope this helps.
