Several Stellar Jays were enjoying the trail mix we left for them; they would swoop in, cram their mouths (beaks?) really full and then come back to this tree before swooping down again. Comments and critiques always appreciated.

Great details and colors Katie; considering the harsh lighting...I am not too crazy about the square crop, but your bird looks good, with good eye contact and head angle. I would suggest adding more space on the bottom and right frame to give space for his tail...good capture...:D:cool:

P.S. I would also crop just a tad from the top...

Loads of detail, love the pose, really good job! I love these guys but we don't have them..blah!

I would be tempted to get rid of the green around his beak and I wonder how this would look as a more horizontal crop?

Fine image Katie I would like to go with more room around the tail and a crop at the top. Bird looks beautiful Would clone the green around the bill !!! Great eye contact and great seeing the top side !!!

Nice shot - Love the eye contact and head angle. Crop doesn't quite work for me the way it is.

A beautiful bird, great detail and you've made an excellent job of coping with what looks like harsh lighting. I'd go with the majority on the crop. Lose some from the top especially.

Hi Katie, I, too, would crop from the top - quite a lot. I love the image, particularly the colours and the bird's pose - well done!
