Shovelers are very skittish over here. This one was no exception. I had seen it on several occasions. Every time I tried to photograph it dissappeared, but also came back to the same spot. One day, when it returned to the exact same spot i was lying under camonetting and could make this image
Sharp as all get-out, and great exposure and light. Shadow-Highlight would definitely improve this as the face in front of the eye and the dark area behind the head need to be opened up. Most important suggestion: I, and most editors would (for different reasons), find this too large in the frame.
