Shovelers are very skittish over here. This one was no exception. I had seen it on several occasions. Every time I tried to photograph it dissappeared, but also came back to the same spot. One day, when it returned to the exact same spot i was lying under camonetting and could make this image

Sharp as all get-out, and great exposure and light. Shadow-Highlight would definitely improve this as the face in front of the eye and the dark area behind the head need to be opened up. Most important suggestion: I, and most editors would (for different reasons), find this too large in the frame.

later and love and good going on the persistence. artie

Excellent angle and details. I wish for more room on the left and as Artie said S/H would make this even better.

Love the low angle, really like the colours and sharpness. Nits already mentioned.

Lovely image just a little bit too tight. Thanx for sharing.
