This was taken in June 2016 on a very damp and foggy morning near the nesting area of a family of Peregrine Falcons. Arash, Glenn, and possibly some others have posted some excellent images of these birds... this is my best IF image of one of the juveniles. This view is from the top of the cliff looking down on the bird with the ocean in the BG. Obviously I would prefer a better HA, but I'm still pleased with the full topside view and I hope you enjoy seeing it too.

I'm really liking this topside view, and you have enough look at the eye and beak to make it work well. I also love the hint of waves in the BG which give you a sense of place.

Beautiful dorsal view, with terrific detail and a great marine background. Too bad he's going away, but as Marina says, the good look at the eye and beak compensate nicely.

I agree with all that has been said already. Great details on the bird that is just passed you. Hard to get shots of these avian bullets with only 5 frames per second so considering that you did very well. Or do you shoot this in DX crop and get 7 fps? Now you have a reason to go back and shoot again.

I also like the topside view. Nice details and colors. The background really makes him stand out. Glad you got a good look at the eye.

Excellent topside details against the saturated ocean colors, too bad he had already passed you hopefully next time you'll get one coming at you :)

The beautiful seafoam green of the ocean looks awesome and I like the nice colors and details in this nice looking frame
I agree that the flight angle could have been better but the good look at the head makes this one a keeper in my book.
Maybe I will see you out there this year. Well done Kirk

Great shot Kirk, I love the color of the BG and the great detail. This year with the great Focus tracking of your D500 you will bring back some great ones
