    Default Mistle thrush

We had the briefest of snow flurries the other day, so I got an hour or so to get a couple in for this months theme. This is a mistle thrush about to devour some berries.

I added a touch of canvas to the right as the tail was almost touching the edge of the frame, otherwise full frame.

Very nice. High IQ, with tack focus and great bg. White snow and red berries add to the composition.

I agree the IQ is brilliant. You've captured everything one could ask for. Soft light, snow perch with beautiful red berries, and super BG. Great looking bird, perfect sharpness.

Mike that's a beautiful shot of a shy bird ,that nice BG picks up just a hint of red to complement the berries, the iq of the bird is spot on and so natural. You have got to be very pleased with this I know I would be.

Mike - spot on lovely shot excellent colours/exposure.
When adding canvas I would have been tempted to add a little more all round- content aware fill often though not always works well.

A great setting for Christmas greeting cards! Sharp and well exposed, and the BG looks good (but could use a bit of NR). Good call adding canvas, but I feel taking a step or two back, if possible, would have been even better. Bummer the berries are blocked, but there is enough red to add tons of interest.

An excellent shot, Mike. The snow really helps to simplify the environment and the backdrop is well placed.
