    Default Snowy Egret

This is another image captured at Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. Snowy Egrets are so feisty. I've watched them stealing fish from much larger birds. In this image I like the raised feathers on the head. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Joe:

The black background was perfect here for showing off the fine detail of the erect feathers. I like the composition, fits the curves of the head/ neck.

Well exposed, sharp without being 'crunchy'

    Well captured.

    Cheers

Hi Joe. This does capture their feisty nature very well. Love the raised feathers against the black, and the open bill.

The whites look real good against that BG Joe. Nice, sharp detail. The raised feathers look great.

I like the image a lot, the egret looks great against the black BG. Are sure about Snowy Egret? Sure looks like a Great Egret to me.

Thanks everyone for viewing and commenting, very much appreciated.

Daniel and Stuart, I see why you identify it as a Great Egret. Now I am not sure, but as I remember the bird it was smaller than a Great Egret, the size of a Snowy. So maybe a hybrid.
