    Default Trumpeter swans during winter

Had this flock of trumpeter swans along the Madison River last winter on my photo tour early one morning. Stopped down for DOF and was happy that the one swan decided to flap and provide an extra element to the image..

    Robert:

I am quite fond of trumpeters, and spend a fair amount of time with a bunch of them at the local bird sanctuary. Great characters!

The flap is good, and the one juvi ," protected" in the midst of the adults.

The cool tones of the image reinforce the cold weather.

Just from personal taste, I would consider cropping about 1/3 of the snow off the top.

    Cheers

Lovely blues on the water. Great that you got good HA's on all the birds. Agree with Randy about cropping some from the top.

Beautiful shot very elegant. Happy with the crop as is but I do appreciate the top 3-4cm is really adding.
