    Default Rough-legged Hawk

    The other day we were treated to this Rough-legged Hawk (May be a light morph female) at a local wildlife preserve. C&C welcome.

    D500, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/2500s, f 5.6, ISO 1000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    I like the eye contact and the bird against a blue sky. I do think that the bird is too high up and it looks like he has already passed by you.

    good critique by Issac, it also looks like it was a big crop. very handsome raptor high on my list too

    Well done Geoffrey. the look back pose 'helps' a little when the bird has flown past. Lovely eye contact.

    I think the look back eye contact makes up for the fact the bird as started to pass you,it's a capture I very much like Geoffrey .
