A small baby Baboon is only safe when close to his mother. There are lots of dangers out there, and I am not referring to just leopards and cheetahs, or lions. I am talking about snakes, birds of prey, and sometimes the odd male or female Baboon who takes play to the extreme - I saw this happen just the other day.

So here's a little chap who takes great comfort in cuddling up to mom, one raised foot in defence, clear evidence of his fear towards the aggressor standing by. More to follow...

Hi Gabriela - You have created a very nice intimate portrait. At first I thought I wanted to see the whole mother but then looking at this more closely, I realize it works quite well with the detail on the hands. I really like the way the youngster's hand is on top of mom's and also that mom is holding the youngster with the other hand. Excellent low pov and dof. There is a slight amount of blue coming through in the blacks of the youngster's hair on its head that I would remove if it were mine. Nice one.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Your images of this species are really full of life & character Gabriela, the viewer really picks up a real sense of Mum (Mom) & youngsters bonding. The fixed gaze and raised hand/arm just conveys so much. I just wonder about a slight rotation?

There is a slight amount of blue coming through in the blacks of the youngster's hair on its head that I would remove if it were mine. Nice one.
I'm struggling to see this Rachel and the eye dropper is very consistent across all three channels.

Hi Gabriela another nice frame of your baboon session !!!!!
All different and fun / interesting to look at .
For me the most important factor of this series is yourself ..... you got out and used the kit , and hopefully lost time and other stuff while playing with the baboons .
And this brought you back to us .....

    Lovely sheltered frame ....

    Keep them coming

    Hi Gabriela
It seems this is an image that tells a story without needingwords. I am glad that you chose not to show the mother in her entirety. Her hand wrapped around the baby is perfect.

A top top quality wildlife image !!! Besides the obviously detailed face of the youngster , all the hands with their detail and finger nails make for a top image imo

Thank you Keith, Steve, Andreas, Ken and Basil

I love telling you my animal stories... My PP work might need some refining, a bit rusty after six months or so, but I am back:)

Steve - I used the eye dropper too, cannot find the blues. Will try rotate a bit if you think it is needed, many thanks for taking the time to view and for feedback

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

I think it's just a visual thing, but your call, perhaps do it by eye, that is the most accurate, but you also need more image content all round to facilitate the rotation otherwise things will get too tight. Perhaps 3 CW rotation????

Another beautiful interaction shot Gabriela, the stare on the youngster makes you keep looking at the shot wondering whats going through his or her head, and I like your choice of crop on the adult.
