    Here's one from last summer at a heron rookery. Maybe a bit large in the frame, but there wasn't time to remove the TC when he flew onto a nearby perch. Slight crop from bottom and corresponding addition of canvas on the top. Just after sunrise.

    D7200, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 1250, 1/1600s @ f/7.1 manual.

    I really like this Bill, beautiful light, great detail and unique pose. The dark, pleasing BG also helps the image pop. Very cool! Thanks for sharing

    Like this Bill, very nice. Love the open beak and tongue against the dark BG, really pops. Nice light and the eye is wonderful. I like your comp...TFS
