    Default Lesser Yellowlegs in flight

One from this summer on the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. I was not there trying to take pictures and was just birding so only had my 100-400 ii with me. This guy flew in close so took advantage.

    Canon 7d ii and Canon 100-400 ii. 340mm, ISO 640, F8, SS 1/2500

Converted in DPP. In PS I cropped, sharpened and applied NR to background.

Your quick action paid off, very sharp with details, exposure looks spot on! TFS.

Very nice Isaac, I like the BG, the colours show the bird real well. Good downward stroke flight pose and nice detail on the bird.

Sometimes its the unexpected that turns out best. Sharp, and I like the water BG. From the angle of the legs I imagine it was about to land shortly after this was taken?

While I was standing on the east pond at Jamaica Bay and studying some nearby shorebirds through my scope, I heard this bird call. Looked up and saw that a birder further south from me flushed it in my direction. It flew by and landed about 75 feet away. Interestingly it only had 1 leg but seemed to be feeding well and otherwise healthy.

I've found this species extraordinarily difficult to catch in flight. Well done to get a sharp flight shot of him.

Hi Isaac, great flying pose, tack sharp, and love the feather detail on the near wing. You certainly couldnt go wrong with rotation with all the darker ripples in the water. Maybe a little off the bottom.

Nice sharp flight shot Isaac. I like the colors against the blue water. Well done
