This was taken at Fort Desoto in early December. I was out lensed by a couple of people on a Reddish Egret so I followed this guy along while he hunted. I think it was a shrimp that was caught here. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

No issue with being out-lensed here Jim, its paid off handsomely!

Great timing from the hunting bird here, and the prey item is a real bonus. The flying water droplets are a nice touch as well.

I like this shot. Great hunting pose with prey and water droplets. Details look good to me as well. Only thing I may try is to add a little more contrast to the shot as the bird and the water are so similar. Just to see if it makes the bird pop a little more. Looks like it could use a small amount of counter clockwise rotation as well as the in focus part of the water is lower on the right than on the left. Both easy fixes to what is a really nice shot.

What were the others shooting with? 800's?

Sharp, nice rich colors, a prey item, and lots of attractive droplets.

Thanks Mike, Isaac and Arthur for your comments and suggestions. Isaac I think they had 600's with 2x Extenders. I know I couldn't get a usable image from their vantage point.
