    Default Bat Falcon

September 2016: My first day in Panama (Gamboa). This falcon was perched for quite a while here and allowed a nice view. It looked much larger in the field, I was expecting a kestrel sized bird or smaller. The image is heavily cropped to be able to show any detail on the bird. From a composition POV, I've intentionally not left more space on the left (direction the bird is viewing) compared to the right since this looks better to me; there is only empty sky on the left in any case.

It must have been a great experience seeing this rare raptor in the wild. the image unfortunately doesn't work very well given the steep shooting angle, the head angle that is turned away from us and the poor IQ. Hope you see on in better conditions next time

Thank you :-) I stayed at Ivan's B & B in Gamboa town since I was by myself. It was very comfortable.

Way cool bird, and I like the small knob it chose to perch on. Issues noted, and I agree.
