Hello everyone !

Thank you for comments and suggestions on my previous post .

Here is another image for this months theme .

A sub adult of the Marsh pride , feasting on a Wild boar kill . As the dominant males of the pride were not around during this kill , he managed to bag the biggest chunk of meat .
sorted out the downsizing issue . Thank you Andreas and Steve for all your help .

You must have had an awesome time at Mara Lovely capture of this possessive lion guarding his "property", I like the framing and the pose is fantastic.

Good detail on the face but a tad hot on the mane in places. Those eyes are so intent, love the stare.

Do you think you could try give this lion a little more "punch"? Also, I would add more black to the reds (muzzle especially) in Selective Colour (PSCC).

I like the expression in his face , the tilted head , his grip to the food and the tight framing .
Overall i think the image does look lifted in the tonal range from 1/2 down to the blacks ? Not sure about that works , just my thought.
The colors do look very shifted to the yellow side ....? But as colors are very subjective , will leave it to you to decide where the image goes from the color POV .

Haseeb I have learned a lot from your post ,on my first look did think maybe a bit more body but then thought your repost was just fine,then Andreas looks like he as put the icing on the cake.Going back to your original I love the way you have captured this.

Hi Haseeb - Nice tight portrait and the cocked head really adds to the image. Good suggestions above and Andreas' rp has taken this up several notches and is the way to go.

A gripping frame here! I think Andreas took it in the right direction as it just seemed very light in tone?

Hi Haseeb, great to see the 5DMK3 being pushed and not kept at low ISO, this really illustrates well to those who really push themselves that you can achieve excellent results.

Always easy with hindsight, but I would have pulled back in the vehicle to allow yourself a bit more flexibility on he framing in PP, don't go too tight and leave yourself no room for manoeuvre. In addition, although not a deal breaker I think positioning yourself a tad more to the left would have been better, i.e. head on and more of the lions body. Once you had the shot, then you could have bolted on the 1.4 for closer PoV.

As presented I like the OP, yes it has a few flaws, but nothing the Exposure panel could not rectify and the HSL, as I find Andreas's post to dark in terms of the original lighting and so it has lost a lot of the 'modelling light' the OP had and so the contours, form and framework just blends into each other . Haseeb, this is where you just needed to refine things even more and build on selective layers of adjustment so you retain the fine detail giving you the sharpness you originally captured, but just my take.
