Default Leopard takes a jackel pup.

An alarm call by a pair of Black-backed Jackals led us to this young male leopard that had just killed one of it's older pups.

Quite a rare sighting, a mature male lion had just arrived on the scene forcing the leopard to quickly snatch the jackal and attempt to secure his prize higher up the sausage tree, a special treat indeed.

Hi Marc - What a great sighting and dramatic image! Excellent sharpness and clarity. I would prefer just a sliver more below if you have it. If it were mine I might dial back the sky coming through in the bg. One I would love to have seen and captured.

Wishing you a great holiday season and 2017 too!

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Marc -- Merry christmas !

What a fantastic sighting this is and what a quality image it has turned out . Love those eyes of the leopard . the blue blotches of sky in the Bg are not ideal from my point of view and i too would have loved some more space at the bottom . But overall this is a great sighting and TFS !

Marc to my mind this is faultless ,the qaulity is spot on,it's almost like the Leopard is displaying it's kill, wonderful work.

You did so well here - what a cracking sighting and capture!
I think it's perfectly framed for the tight frame here, removing all distracting elements around.
Agree with Rachel - might just drop blue/cyan saturation by 5-10 points for the sky?

Great sighting and you nailed it. Love the dapple golden light. Agreed with Morkel and Rachel regrading dropping the cyan on the sky. Superb! Loi
