    Default common golden eye

finally had something other than grey to photograph under. nikon d3 with 600mm f4 at iso 800 f9.5 and 1/1000th of a sec

Cropped to about 80 percent of the original

Processed through Adobe Lightroom and finished in Adobe Photoshop for sizing output and sharpening

I usually shot in adobe color space and open the image in prophoto 16 bit

i will correct for any color cast do a levels adjustment a contrast ajustment and pre output sharpening.

also a hue and sat ajustment if needed

sent to Adobe Photoshop for noise reduction if needed further sharpening as needed and size ing for output and conversion of color space for output

i convert to srgb for web and adobe 98 for print also change mode to 8 bit

Hey John, Wonderful color and reflection, and I find the pattern of the reflections pleasing too. Great exposure. While the eye is very sharp, the head itself does not look razor. Did you do any work on the eye?

Lastly, I would get rid of the tiny little speck just behind the bird's head. Overall, well done.

    later and love, artie

Quite a cooperative goldeneye. I like the angle and reflection. It looks a bit soft on my monitor.
