This birds are breeding mostly at area's were they are building new houses, the background colour is made bij a crane.
I left the cable on purpose in the image so you can see more that it's that kind of area.

The bird looks great....nice exposure. The BG (even if it is a crane) certainly compliments the bird as well. Oh.....if only it was a more attractive perch. Perhaps you could put up some perches in the area and get some more natural images.

Great exposure control and details and the BG makes him stand out well. What is the name of this species?

@ Lana: the problem is that the bird has it's favorite places to sit and when you check this out: www.ltdphoto.com you will see that it are all not natural places, but maybe I'll try to get it on a branch, thank for the tip.

@ Axel: the english name is: Black Redstart and the scientific name is: Phoenicurus ochruros.

Thanks for the info. Yeah....those picky birds.....having their favorites. I really don't mind man made perches....especially barbed wire and fence posts. I think that the handle...with white wash was a little less than attractive compared to others. You might tie an interesting perch to the handle and see if he likes it. If not......he's still a fine bird in my book.

Beautiful image, and I love the detail in your subject. I think the cable is good, it adds to the environment and tells you that this is construction and not just an old bike handle or something. Really love the background.

Lovely looking bird with nice details, light and BG. I would remove the metal cable for sure!

My personal preference; crop the rope and it will still be a dynamite image. Please keep after them and posting the results.
