    Default Ferruginous Pygmy Owl

A ferruginous pygmy owl was snapped basking in the late evening sun. These little guys are active both during day and night times. While it was lucky for me to see one I am happy that i had put in a lot of time in research about the bird and had a very short and specific checklist that i wanted to achieve from this trip.

Planning to visit again very soon for some more species that I haven't covered yet. Pls watch the video i made of the wildlife seen during the trip and the best part is at the end

Beautiful light and of course the owl. I like it small in the frame here against that dark background. Also really like the peeling branch. You have some cloning issues to the right of the bird where you can see the artifacts and the blurred out part of the branch. I might be tempted to clone out the peeling part that sticks up just to the left of the bird so as to keep full attention on the beautiful owl.

    What a great shot, Supreet.
The contrast in colours between the owl and the background and the way the branch compliments the owl all work well together. I agree with Isaac about removing the peeling bark next to the owl and what looks like editing artefacts to the right of the bird.
But the image is striking despite those.

Spectacular setting. Clean up the image at the bend in the branch as already mentioned will take it over the top. TFS

A terrific capture of this tiny owl, the size of a beer can. Great light and detail. I'd leave the peeling bark, but it might be worth trying to eliminate the oof vegetation on the right. With or without, I'd be delighted to have captured this one.

The owl and light are terrific! Not sure what is going on with the "haze" covering the feet and parts of the branch though...if the result of processing it would be worth reworking those areas.
