    Default Viera Least Bittern

I was out at Viera today and there is quite a bit happening. There are certainly lots of least bitterns and this one I got perched at the top of the greens, instead of their usual bottom position. I like it because of the textures and colors in the back of the bird. I cleaned it up as much as I thought it could handle. What do you all think of the results? Do you think still too distracting a BG? Taken with the D300 and Nikon 500 f4, f7.1, 1/400, iso 640.

    Hi Nancy,
Not sure if you're talking BG colors and textures or colors and textures on the bird's back. Either way, they all are quite complimentary. Nice pose details, and of course, colors.

Great find, pose, eye contact and composition. The bird could go a bit darker for my taste.

I think it looks great, Nancy, I'm with Axel on darkening him a little bit.

Thanks Steve, Axel and Fabs! The darkening part is one of the things I was not sure of, so thanks for confirming my thoughts.
