I took this image at Oquirrh Lake, Utah last week. I like the way I was able to get a clean background with this Pied Billed Grebe.

    Nikon D500
    500mm f/4 +1.7x TC
    ISO 640, f/6.7, 1/800 sec
    Aperture Priority, +1 1/3 EV

Added canvas on the left side and bottom + Noise Reduction

This is a relatively boring grebe but you capture it in a very cute pose and the wet feathers on the rump area adds a lot to the picture. As if it were using a pomade. I think the bird is very well exposed here but I would like to see a little more room below. The blue color on the water is a little weird though; at least to me.

    Hi Lee,

Thank you for your points. I did notice that the background color of the water is a little bit off. I guess it was due to the adjustments made in the Lightroom. I tried to correct it. Posting a reprocessed image.

    Thanks

Cute little grebe. Although it is swimming away it did turn its head just right for you. I prefer the repost's blues and added space below, but I would blend a way the darker "stretched" areas form the canvas extension along the bottom edge.
