Australian Masked Owl

Australian Masked Owl (Tyto novaehollandiae castanops)
Tasmania, Australia
Canon 7DII | 100-400 f4.5-5.6 @400mm | Tripod | Manual exposure | 580EXII Flash | 1/640 f/7.1 ISO 640|
This is the largest subspecies of the Australian Masked Owl, the largest Tyto Owl in the world and confined to Tasmania. After missing it on previous visits I was happy to find a wild but willing subject.

Wow this is nice. I really like the way it is set against the black BG. The exposure looks really good and the pose is really nice. First time seeing this owl for me, so I can't comment on the color accuracy.
