    This newly fledged osprey failed at his first attempt of capturing a fish. He was so wet he couldn't get his heavy feathers out of the water enough to fly, so he made (osprey-paddled) his way to the beach where he stayed for a couple of hours drying out. His sibling could see him from the nest and at times it sounded as
    though he was laughing at him. Xti, 100-400 w/1/4 @ 140mm, F13, 1/500, Iso 200. Thanks for looking. Sharon

    Nice work in hard light conditions. Fill flash can help in conditions like this.

    Agree with Sid, nice image is some challenging conditions and contrast. Good job. Love the wet look and the wings down pose.

    I situations like this I try to do a few down flat on the ground for a really smooth OOF BG.

    He really doesn't look too happy. :) Thanks for sharing the story and I agree regarding fill flash because of the harsh lighting.
