I managed to capture this cygnet as it flew in towards the loch. I liked the flight pose, which appeared quite different. I also liked the winter sunlight. I have posted two frames, one with some sky showing, and the other with only the trees as the BG. Which do you like best, and why.

    Thanks

    Will

My vote is with sky. The BG with trees only makes it feel boxed in

Like the second one as I think the sky slightly distracts .I think the multi background sets off the birds young colours very well. Very nice wing position .Maybe lighten the shadows a bit?

I would go with the sky version as I like the tree line, but with a bit less room below. Sharp, and I like the slight curve of the neck. I know you like the pose and I realize it is likely gliding in, but I would have preferred better wing positions.

Will I want to say the one with the sky but I think I prefer the repost without. I agree with others - there is less distraction and the yey concentrates on the bird. Love the neck and the exposure looks very good.

Hi Will, tack sharp and well exposed, and just wish for a better flight pose. Comp wise, I like your OP.

I like the sharpness, composition and complimentary BG. I like the repost with no sky. Very well done Will!
