    Default Clark's Grebe

I was hoping for grebes in New Mexico and was blessed with this one and only... The pond had a nice assortment of waterfowl and in the back end i was able to spot the sleeping grebe. I made my way around, setup and sat. I waited till he slid into the reflected color of the leaves in the water and captured this image. Western grebes have black that extends below the eye and Clark's have black that ends above the eye. I could use some help with regard to cropping and leveling the grebe... for example, when i level the grebe the water is askew... and not sure of less reflection... thanks

Hi Ann, lovely looking Grebe. Love the color of the water, nice detail and color of the bird. If mine I would use the eye on the Grebe and the eye in the reflection to level. I did a quick try and I think it works well. Thank you for sharing.

Sweet! Perfect IQ. I love the "brush stroke" texture of the water, very appealing. The grebe looks great too. Nice comp overall, but I do find the "extra" head of the reflection touching the bottom edge unfortunate - I wish there was an orange gad their instead. As Joe mentions, drawing a straight line from pupil to pupil would do the trick to level the image. I like this a lot, thanks for sharing.

Wow, I love the color on the water here. I agree that the head touching the bottom is unfortunate, maybe you have more room down there?
