Not an image that will set the world alight, I just wanted to get out early the other week because the cold weather was creating some 'stella' light, plus I need to check some updated settings too.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Might not set the world alight to quote yourself Steve, but the detail and the way you have processed this looks excellent to my eyes, the eye is superb.

Superb detail and I love this type of lighting with the 'spotlight' effect. I'd have preferred the eye to have been a bit further towards the left of the frame as I don't think the left hand side adds a lot, especially with the eye looking out to the right.

Agree Mike, as I said, I was more interested in the 'tech' capture on this one rather than anything else.

Very nice Steve. I love the light here. Great detail and finished nicely with a fab BG colour.

Lovely image, exposure, detail, as always spot on. I disagree with Mike, I think the left side shows the wonderful fine feather detail that would be lost if the eye was moved further left. IMHO. Thank you for sharing, Steve.

Hi Steve ... technically spot on , love the fine details ... stunning stuff,
Just wonder that you kept the SS " slow" , plenty of Iso room to play with .

Steve i have to think about the SS for tortoises .....if that helps to create sharper images .
I have been crawling on the ground in SA for some tortoises and 1/1000 sec was not fast enough to freeze the movement with a 200 mm lens

Hi Steve, a bit late to your party mate, but you have certainly brought out the finer plumage detail. Excellent sharpness on the eye and bill, and overall well exposed too. Not too shabby Squire.
