Thank you for your C&C's on my previous post . I see a lot of participation for this months theme and so I would also love to join with a Tiger image . This image is taken at Bandhavgarh National Park , from the Elephant back . I decided to use the 500 f4 to avoid all the cluttering around and get a close shot as possible to avoid steep angle. The clipped highlights here and there are unfortunate especially on the paw and leg but that is what it is .
DPP 4 , CS6, curves , selective colours, levels , clarity, highlights , saturation , vibrance ( all used very sparingly as possible ) , slightly lifted the shadows from the face, burning, sharpening , No cropping .
Canon 5D MK III , Canon 500mm f4 IS II , HH .
1/3200 sec; f/5.6; ISO 4000.
All your C&C's are most welcome
PS: Rajbehra is the area in the park after which the name of his mother goes .
Haseeb agree with your self critique re the paw and leg ,the Tigers features on its face and eyes hold my attention, the detail and the texture of the fur look excellent to me.Must be great to get that close.
Hi Haseeb - Great eye contact and it makes up for the pov from above. I know this is ff but I would prefer a bit more room especially above. The face looks great, It's really unfortunate about the paw and leg.
Hi Haseeb, yep a great subject to post in this months theme for sure.
Is this FF or cropped as per Rachell's question, as some more room on all side would be great? The 'Burning' tool looks/appears a bit much on the leg, looks like you tried to recover some tone on the blown leg on the RH sided as viewed? I also think 1/2000 would have been fine, thus helping your ISO. I very much like the pose, with the head resting on the paw and the thoughtful gaze to camera.
Hi Haseeb ... leaving the HL issues aside this is looking great .
Very cool pose and the look up to the viewer is stunning .The details are looking way better than the previous Tiger image , a lot finer and more detailed . Well done on that !!!!!
Nice tones and contrast not overdone . Colors looking a bit too much on the yellow side for my taste ... meaning the whites could be more neutral i think , personal thought from my side and not a big deal .
Always great to see a tiger shot !!!!!
Well done Haseeb , keep the tigers coming . TFS Andreas
The eyes really grabbed me here, regardless of the crits already given. I agree it could be toned down in terms of saturation.
As a portrait I find it quite effective - could even crop closer for more impact?
