These two Black Ducks were captured flying along a dark channel at Chincoteague NWR just before sunset, as they caught the last rays of sun. I know they're a bit past me, but I like the dark earth tones of this one, reminding me of the tones in some Rembrandt portraits.
This is a gem, Bill. I also like the earth tones you've captured with the light from setting sun. Love the formation flight with wings fully extended up. Don't mind ducks being slightly past you. Looks as if there is some sort of distortion in the lower left third of image.
I really do like this Bill and amazed at the way you have managed to get this,I'm sure there are some of the technical points that I am missing but this image really does it for me.
This image really appeals to me also, I love the colours. My main criticism would be the one you pointed out yourself followed by I wish there was a little separation between the heads.
Great shot Bill. Black ducks are smart and elusive. Definitely one of the hardest ducks to get close to. I like the dark tones against the dark bg. As to the angle it is the one I see most often in nature. Wild Black Ducks seldom fly to you.
